Irene Asare is an international Human Capital Expert, and founder of CarvinClay People Development.

She has worked for corporate giants across Africa including Vodafone, Standard Bank and Tullow Oil. She currently serves as Human Resources Director at BBC News.
Underpinning Irene’s track record of success is her commitment to building proactive, efficient HR functions that provide high-value partnership to the business. As an experienced board member, C-level advisor and executive coach, she thrives when developing and implementing ambitious people strategies and defining compelling employee value propositions that establish organisations as employers of choice, as well as leading large-scale business transformations that drive growth, performance and profitability.
With more than 20 years’ experience in HR leadership roles overseeing Business Transformation and Organisational Effectiveness, Irene's career has seen many significant achievements including; Enhancing the reputations of organisations through employee valuation propositions, Improving employee engagement and governance processes that protect businesses, and Successfully resetting the organisational strategy in many top multinationals across Africa, such as Tullow Oil, Vodafone, Vodacom and Standard Bank.
Irene holds a Global Executive MBA from the prestigious China Europe International Business School and a Master's in Human Resource Management from Kingston University, London. 
She is also a Chartered Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development UK and a Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana.
Her unique commitment to supporting leaders across diverse sectors as well as her work empowering upcoming HR professionals won her the HR Practitioner of the Year award in 2016, among several reputable accolades.
In 2021, Irene was listed among the 100 Most Influential African Women by Africa's leading Media and PR company, Avance Media, for her work and accomplishments which continue to inspire a lot of young professionals across the African continent and beyond.

Irene remains a knowledgeable and reliable resource on leadership and business transformation, and hopes to build an open platform for inspiring, coaching, mentoring and transforming people around the world. This inspiration birthed the Irene Asare HR Mentoring Programme; a human resource-focused mentoring programme for mid-level professionals across Africa.

At Vodafone Ghana, she initially led the HR business partnering team, responsible for embedding the new structure and ways of working and oversaw the company-wide business transformation initiative.
